This calculator estimates the total Carboplatin dose in mg for an individual using the Calvert formula:
This calculator will make all the necessary conversions based on the parameters entered
Serum creatinine will be rounded to 0.7 for those patients with abnormally low serum creatinine (Cr) < 0.7.
Adjusted body weight (AjBw) and dose will be displayed for overweight or obese patients (BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2).
The FDA has recommended that providers consider capping the dose of Carboplatin for desired exposure (AUC) to avoid potential toxicity due to overdosing. The maximum dose is based on a GFR estimate that is capped at 125 mL/min for patients with normal renal function.
- For a target AUC = 6, the maximum dose is 900 mg
- For a target AUC = 5, the maximum dose is 750 mg
- For a target AUC = 4, the maximum dose is 600 mg
